David Greenfield Email & Phone Number | I am the Professor and Director of the Australian Institute of Health Service Management, University of Tasmania. I am based in Sydney, Australia. My research is at the intersection of improvement and implementation sciences. I research healthcare complex adaptive systems, health services and the organisation of clinical practice. Within and across these spheres I investigate what impacts on quality improvement and mechanisms to integrate research findings and evidence into healthcare policy and practice. This includes, for example, the formal or informal regulation of the organisation and delivery of care, via accreditation programs or interprofessional collaboration strategies. The purpose of my research is to derive evidence to improve organisational functioning, service delivery and patient outcomes. I have lead the globally unique and preeminent research investigating healthcare accreditation programs, also known as external regulation. This is a specialised and expanding field of research. The research is informing the work of accreditation agencies internationally. I have authored 1 book, 7 book chapters, 76 journal publications and 24 conference papers. These, together with 171 conference abstracts and 21 reports, comprise a total of 316 peer-reviewed written academic outputs. I have made, or contributed to, 62 invited talks, 40 session chairs, 222 conference and 135 knowledge translation workshops or seminar presentations. This totals to 459 presentations to national and international audiences. I have successfully graduated six PhD students. Additionally, I have been an advisor to three other higher degree students who have graduated - two PhDs and one honors student. I am currently co-supervising three PhD students and four Masters students, who all intend to go on to PhD studies.
