Seizing the opportunity of building Chinau2019s first commercial Internet service in China, he left his study of rocket science behind, jumped into the telecom industry by joining Sprint International and later became a Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) in 1999. He won the Network Magazine sponsored Product of 2000 award by developing the world first MPLS VPN service as the network architect. With his experience of managing leading GPRS Roaming eXchange (GRX) networks since 2001, he led GRX peering working group under GSMA GRX Task Force and contributed the end-to-end QoS section to the GSMA standard document PRD IR.34. He developed the first IP eXchange (IPX) network enabling LTE roaming in 2012 and captured 70% of LTE roaming traffic. His knowledge of IP technologies and experience of u201chands-onu201d management of IP infrastructure has been his greatest strength and advantage since he changed his role to product management in 2005. He is currently Regional VP, Product Management at Syniverse Technologies, living in San Jose, California, U.S.A., dedicated to developing new cross border services between mobile carriers.
