Although the idea that the heart drives the blood flow is seemingly too right to challenge, I challenged it. I found that the heart is not the only driver for blood circulation. A flow-driving mechanism exist in blood vessels, especially capillaries, the tiniest conduits of the circulatory system. The heart and the capillaries work together to drive the blood through the body. The results went through peer-review and are now published on Science Advances and PloS One. My passion for bioengineering and nanofabrication drives me to pursue innovative solutions for AR/VR, and I am looking at jobs at this intersection.
