Zachary Hummel Email & Phone Number | As a Game Day operations / Community Relations intern, I work on the concourse to resolve in-game issues as they arise with our fans, as well as assist with on and off ice contests and promotions. Using my customer service and relationship building skills, I help improve our overall game day experience for all who attend. Being around sports has always brought me joy and working in a front office capacity has always intrigued me and is now my goal. To accomplish my goal, I have decided to finish my education as a Communications major at the University of Michigan-Flint. I want to further improve on essential skills such as thinking logically and efficiently, communicating clearly, and solving complex problems. Pairing these skills with others I have acquired in previous jobs will help me become a more well-rounded and valuable asset for my employer. In 2019, I was a recent graduate of the police academy and was looking forward to starting my new career as a Police Officer for a local municipality. After only a few months on the job, I realized a change was needed. After resigning from my position, a sequence of events took place, that I can only describe as pure luck… an internship opportunity with the Flint Firebirds hockey team and an opportunity to do color commentary for Saginaw Valley State University’s Men’s Basketball team. Finally, a spark was lit. I found my calling. I was taken back to when I was a child, watching reruns of Sports Center until I had the box scores memorized or when I spent my allowance on baseball cards so I could collect every teams full roster. I was finally able to pair my love for sports with one of my greatest strengths, talking. My skills include: • Customer Service • Problem Solving • Relationship Building • Conflict Resolution During the summer you can most likely find me at the golf course or spending time with friends watching pretty much any game that’s on. In the fall, I enjoy going to Michigan football games with my dad and taking an annual trip with friends to a new NFL stadium.
