I focus on impactful near-term (1-3 years) co-innovation through better alignment and collaboration with R&D product teams, global field technology partners and customers. More specifically, I work on virtualizing HPC and AI/ML workloads for solutions and optimized performance. Previously, I graduated with a Ph.D. in Computer Science at Purdue University. My Ph.D. dissertation focused on accelerating the in-situ workflow to integrate CFD simulations with data analysis at an extreme scale. I have developed the world's fastest in-situ workflow framework, Zipper. I also developed the world's fastest LBM algorithm -- parallel memory-aware LBM, to significantly transform the notorious memory-bound algorithm into a computational-bound algorithm in the Roofline chart. Besides, I interned at LANL and collaborated with the SLAC Team to design the first parameterized benchmark to evaluate the performance of the state-of-the-art parallel and distributed programming systems. Then we invented a novel efficiency metric METG to measure the overhead of runtime systems. Moreover, I built an on-demand distributed workflow to facilitate the Cyberwater community to use HPC and Cloud. I invented a new unsupervised feature learning method and outperformed the Deep Learning framework on a bio-detection task for classifying subtle differences in bacteria. Through my Ph.D. journey and internship, I have gained expertise in HPC, CFD, Cloud computing, and ML, which I am passionate about exploring more in research institutes or industries. In addition, I am actively involved in the research community and serve in paper reviews for several international conferences and journals, such as SC, PEARC, and the Journal of Computer Science and Technology.
