Yorgos Avgeropoulos is a Yorgos Avgeropoulos (born 1971) is a Greek documentary filmmaker and journalist. He has worked for Greek television stations covering news stories in Greece and major events around the world. He has, also, worked as a war correspondent in the wars in Bosnia, Croatia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Kosovo and Palestine. In 2000, he created the current affairs Exandas Documentary Series (Exandas meaning sextant) which is currently broadcasted on Greek public television ERT. Yorgos has created more than 80 documentaries around the world. Apart from his steady co-operation with ERT he has directed two documentaries for Al Jazeera Arabic "Gaza we are coming", and "Egypt the Other Homeland". For his work he has been awarded with 34 international prizes, including the prestigious Silver FIPA, the Faro D' Oro award at CMCA, the Best International Documentary at Torino's Cinemambiente, as well as the Audience Award at Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival.
