III-Nitride based materials growth with MOCVD I have more than 20 years experience with MOCVD for III-Nitride and III-V compound semiconductor materials growth for optoelectronic devices. I have great understanding of MOCVD growth mechanism for III-Nitride and III-V based materials. I have hands-on experience to design and making home-made MOCVD. I also have a lot of experience with commercialized MOCVD such as Thomas-Swan Close Coupled Showerhead (CCS) reactor, AIXTRON planetary reactor, and Veeco TurboDisc reactor. 2. Development of epitaxial growth process and design new epitaxy structures In Epivalley, my job was sustaining MOCVD growth process for InGaN based blue LED epitaxial wafer production. I increased the production yield from 1.5 LED run per day to 2.5 LED run per day. I kept very good process control chart and could expect the wavelength for next run. I developed new epitaxial structures for high performance LEDs. In RPI, I have worked with Prof. E. Fred Schubert to overcome efficiency droop in LEDs. We did a lot of research to overcome efficiency droop and I developed new structure to reduce efficiency droop. 3. Device failure test and analysis, and materials characterizations I have developed new test methods for wafer lever test, device life time test, life time estimation, and reliability test on the wafer lever test as well as package and module level test. To get the best test method, I have to consider from the epitaxial growth to module which includes MOCVD growth process, device fabrication process, phosphors, packaging materials, and heat dissipation systems. I also have a lot of hands-on experience with Normarski optical microscopy, XRD, SEM, SIMS, XPS, Raman spectroscopy, PL, Hall-measurement, AFM, and TEM.
