Throughout my thesis project, I worked as a graduate student in Professor Coleen Murphy's lab, where I studied the cognitive aging process using wild-type and long-lived C. elegans models, applying genetic, genomic, and behavioral methods to characterize the aging process and identify pro-longevity genes and pathways in neurons that are conserved from worm to human. During this time, I demonstrated my motivation, hard work, scientific insight, experimental skills, and data analysis and programming skills. I gained valuable experience in problem-solving, collaboration, critical thinking, and research experience in model organisms, behavioral paradigms, and bulk and single-nucleus RNA sequencing. My thesis works resulted in 3 first author and co-first-author papers currently in submission to top journals. Prior to arriving at Princeton, I studied at Peking University, where I obtained a B.S. in Biological sciences. I worked on neurodegenerative diseases in mouse models, and I also completed a summer research program at the University of Chicago, where I worked on motor neuron terminal differentiation.
