Experience includes starting a new biotech (founder) and serving as its CEO and President, supervising Research and Development (R&D), Medical Affairs and Manufacturing activities, including: Clinical Development, Biometrics, Nonclinical & Clinical Pharmacology, Regulatory Affairs, Product Safety, R&D Finance and Contracts (Budgets), Manufacturing and Formulation Development. Experience in communicating scientific, medical and corporate messages to a broad range of internal and external customers including: health authorities (e.g., FDA, EMA), key opinion leaders, board of directors, financial investors and financial analysts (e.g., Quarterly Earning Calls, financial conferences and Investor Day presentations). Experienced in new product in-licensing, company merger evaluations (M&A), lifecycle planning, strategic portfolio management, R&D assets and liabilities (valuations) as well as developing business plans. Therapeutic experience includes anti-infective, gastrointestinal (IBD and Functional Bowel Disorders), chronic liver disease, respiratory, cardiovascular, endocrine, oncology and pain. Development experience includes small molecules, botanicals, biologics, devices and drug-device combination. Contributed to the approval of numerous marketing applications by health authorities including sNDAs and NDAs for: XIFAXAN550 (HE in CLD 2010, IBS 2015), RELISTOR (SQ formulation in NCP for OIC 2014, Tablet in NCP for OIC 2016), RUCONEST (HAE 2015), UCERIS RECTAL FOAM (Distal UC 2015), FULYZAQ (HIV Diarrhea, 2012), GIAZO (Acute UC, 2012), Metozolv ODT (Gastroparesis, 2009), APRISO (Maintenance of Remission in UC, 2008), OSMOPREP and MOVIPREP (Bowel cleansing for colonoscopy, both 2006), COLAZAL (Pediatric use in Acute UC, 2005), PLETAL (Intermittent Claudication in PAD, 1999).
