My focus is on knowing what tool to use when, leveraging out of the box capabilities when they fit, and knowing if, and when, to customize. My current work in the consulting and advisory space focuses on organizational productivity and process improvement primarily leveraging Microsoft technology including Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Microsoft Lists, and Microsoft Power Apps as well as other platforms within M365 and the Power Platform. As a spin-off of my work as a consultant, trainer, and technology advisor I'm also currently developing a startup concept (with a functional POC) focused on technology skills for the knowledge worker, role clarity, and upskilling for individuals and teams. Please let me know if you'd like to talk about challenges in this area. Background: I have been working with Microsoft SharePoint and the platform family of technology and services since 2003. Prior to that, I was a developer on a variety of platforms with a foundation on data services. Within the SharePoint space, I initially focused on server software installation and configuration (Administration and IT Pro) as well as application of out of the box functionality for business solutions. Over time I worked with a number of organizations on best practices regarding service and site architecture, business usage of lists and libraries (file storage), as well as governance and training. As both a full-time employee and consultant, I've spent years building and curating user communities in both enterprise and SMB organizations as well as in the greater tech communities. I've been an organizer and speaker for the Minnesota SharePoint User Group (MNSPUG), SharePoint Saturday Twin Cities (SPSTC), and M365 Twin Cities (M365TC) and have spoken at dozens of conferences locally, nationally, and internationally. I have been awarded with Microsoft's MVP award 14 times, starting in 2009. This award recognizes exceptional community leadership to contributors who've gone above and beyond at sharing knowledge and building communities around Microsoft's technologies.
