Wendy left university beginning her career in archaeology, working on Iron Age and Saxon sites. Her passion for art and culture started at an early age, where she remembers drawing from the time she could hold a pencil and paintbrush. Saying it was the best way to express how she felt and saw the world. Her early use of simple artist strokes and tones developed to allow her to create artwork on nature, wildlife, animals, landscapes, abstract, contemporary and impressionist works. She is inspired by the beauty of the countryside and her deep interest in people and their life stories. Wendy Thompson has been an artist in residence for the Darlington Building Society, had work displayed in public venues and produced commissioned artwork for the former Bank of England Governor Lord Mervin King, and His Majesty Charles III and Camilla making Wendy an artist you can both enjoy today and invest in for the future.
