My journey in the legal field has been entirely shaped by a lifelong fascination with the evolving landscape of entertainment - its content, talent, technologies, business models - especially as it relates to creating engaging, innovative experiences. I've focused much of my career on understanding and addressing the specific challenges and opportunities in location-based entertainment, including theme parks, immersive experiences, and touring exhibitions. And, it makes me proud to know I built a legal expertise in location-based entertainment before other attorneys knew or believed our industry was "even a thing; like, a real thing". Beyond my professional life, I'm also a drummer. I find that music, particularly the discipline and creativity of drumming, informs my approach to business and legal strategy. It's about providing a solid framework within which others' creativity can dance; finding the rhythm in chaos and making sure all parts work in harmony, whether that's in a band or in a boardroom. GROOVE IS EVERYTHING. Mentoring and sharing knowledge have always been important to me. I serve on several boards (for profit and non-profit), and I really enjoy guiding young(er) professionals and entrepreneurs, hoping to inspire them with the lessons I've learned along my own path. Speaking at industry events gives me a chance to discuss the ever-changing world of immersive entertainment and the importance of staying adaptable and innovative. I've been so fortunate to receive industry recognition in my dual roles in law and entertainment, but for me, the real reward is in the work itself – in building special, meaningful relationships, finding that perfect balance between creativity and pragmatism, and helping to bring visionary projects to life.
