My dissertation focuses on developing and applying targeted proteomics and targeted metabolomics methods to assess the impact of engineered nanomaterials on crop plants, using liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). I have successfully optimized analytical methods to enhance the sensitivity and accuracy of targeted proteomics analysis, and created workflows for data processing and interpretation. I have also assessed the effects of different types of nanomaterials on plant metabolites. In addition, I have a strong background in organic compound analysis, having worked as a research specialist at Professor Arturo Keller’s lab at UCSB, and as an ORISE fellow at the US EPA. I have developed and applied analytical methods for pesticides, herbicides, pharmaceuticals, personal care products, and polychlorinated biphenyls in various environmental matrices. I am proficient in English and Chinese, and have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
