The following year Weggon became co-owner of Lenz Studio, a well known photography and videography studio now operating in the west end of the city. Under his direction as producer, the studio has produced several short films and documentaries. Their film Forgive Me Father was nominated at the Pinnacle Film Awards, Pragg International Film Festival, and won Best Film at the Vesuvius International Film Fest. Another production, Pierre St. Denis was selected at the Milton Film Festival, Toronto Black Film Festival, Varesse Film Festival and won an award at the Tagore International Film Festival 2021. Weggon aspires to continue storytelling through media and film. Today Weggon has positioned himself as Co-founder and Director of the non-profit organization UNILEARNAL. The organization intends to produce valuable, educational and creative content that highlights the experiences of BIPOC through projects such as their web series 28 Moments of Black Canadian History and B For Black. The former touches on the history of Afro Diasporic peoples living in Canada, examining their experiences of oppression, genocide, colonialism and generational trauma. The series also discusses the connection that must be made between the Black experience and the history of violence faced by Indigenous communities in Canada. Unilearnal’s second web series, B for Black, celebrates the Black entrepreneur. The web series highlights the authentic narrative of Black entrepreneurship, creativity and leadership. Weggon aspires to grow his business, Lenz Films, to be a leading player in the production and film industry. He is passionate about using his knowledge and skills to support and cultivate space for creative development.
