I am also in the process of opening a web-based company, mathstruc.com, which will provide structural engineering functions, programs and standard calculation blocks for Mathcad to other structural engineers for use. I have designed structures ranging from small structures in wood to an 8-story, 2,200 car post-tensioned parking garage in Kansas City, to a 310 by 345 foot clear span steel roof for Jack Breslin Events Center in East Lancing, Michigan. These two projects were designed while I employed by HNTB. Most of my work in the Reno is limited to residential, and small to midsized commercial and warehouse projects. However, Current clients include a firm which specializes in amusement structures, for which I provide structural engineering services including the Manhattan Roller Coaster in Las Vegas; a Cable car tower at Mt. Roberts, Juneau, Alaska; Dinner in the Sky, under construction in Las Vegas; and several similar types of projects. Specialties: I have used Mathcad since the early 90’s for virtually all my calculations, except where the use of substantial analysis/design programs, such as RISA or STAAD, etc., are required. I am currently developing functions/programs and standard calculation blocks for use in Mathcad.
