After 35 years of serving in various positions at a variety of locations in Western Canada, in 2014 it was time to move on. and retire I immediatelt joined up with the Running Room, first as a sales associate, after a year of that became the store manager at our St. Albert location...and now, after 9 years, managing, leading run groups, instructing a variety of run clinics, guest speaking for other organizing, I've stepped back, semi retired to now; I just instruct Zoom on-line run clinics/learn to runners to marathers and everything inbetween, I work with our events team as well every so often and I still have an eye on what comes next......I'm also leading runners at a weekly run club runs, and I just organized my first run!.....a 5K 10K fundraiser for the local LoSeCa Foundation who works with people with disabilities....114 runners/walkers...28 volunteers, 6 sponsors, and managed to raise over 3,000.. and yes my eyes wide open for something VERY part time, on line or on person in the fitness industry, maybe....after having a full life of freelance writing for various entertainment publications and organizations, and also hosting/directing/producing some TV work as well...may be a direction I'd like to follow at some point as well but yeah, the focus with now is fitness....instructing and coaching, helping others follow their passion, solving problems, finding out what works and what doesn't....and what others need to get them fit, healthy, happy...and yes, Race Director.....that's now me, and added to my resume... Now, I've added something else...I've decided to start up a Zoom based run clinic for all and any...because, well I have time on my hands..and so far, a few said sure they'd join in....so why not?
