In addition to this wide array of experiences in the field of education, I have an MA in Special Education from American University. I also have experience in the non-profit sector. Working and/or volunteering with three non-profits (The Living Classrooms Foundation, The Hill Center and Kid Power DC), I have maintained executive calendars, scheduled public programs, solicited donations, organized events, managed funds, edited, publicized events and interacted with the public via phone, email and in-person.   Currently, I am Director of Learning Resource at St. Bernadette School.  I am a proactive and self-motivating educator and, since beginning at St. Bernadette, I have recruited and trained specialists designated to work with either grades K-3 or 4-8 and more than tripled the size and scope of the LR program to meet the needs of more students.  My team and I establish goals for each student who receives services and formally review progress eight times a year.  On a daily basis, I supervise LR sessions and review lesson plans.  In addition, I create my own lesson plans and work with the students who have the most severe learning challenges.
