The Agency Services team provides administrative support to both the internal sales teams as well as the intermediary insurance salespeople. This includes processing agency applications, technology and software applications, change of detail requests, client information requests as well as processing sale and purchases of clients. As Agency Services Manager, my role is to lead and grow this team of 11 direct reports and ensure that quality and turnaround times of requests are met or exceeded. When I took on this role, the turaround times were very long and the quality of work was variable. This led to quite a few unhappy customers. I led a process improvement initiative to reduce, and improve consistency of, turnaround times as well as improve the quality of work. This has been successful and in March 2016 the team won the Distribution Team of the Year award. This is the first time a “non-sales” team has won this award. As Distribution Systems Specialist, it is my role to be a subject matter expert on internal facing technologies, such as Salesforce, and how they integrate to adviser facing technologies and distribution processes. I then assess how proposed technology upgrades, process improvements and project implications can impact on the distribution systems and processes. I represent the distribution team on the Small Work Request (SWR) committee where I present distribution system and technology enhancement requests to the committee for approval. Once approved, I then work closely with the developers, business owners, business analysts and testers to implement the SWR solution into production. I also work with the business technology team on raising system faults, remedy cases and coordinating UAT testing.As part of the Quality Advice Network (QAN) team, I support QAN member advisers in utilising Xplan CRM technology to manage their client database, create and manage compliant processes, document these compliant processes and to effectively utilise their database to grow and develop their businesses. I work within the QAN adviser practices to deliver tailored training and support the technology. I also deliver personalised training for and support various other technologies offered to QAN advisers such as electronic risk applications and personalised websites as well as general IT and compliance support as requested. The region I cover is from Palmerston North to Whangarei inclusive.Originally providing interim maternity cover from April 2009 for panel of advisers, I was then given the challenging and exciting opportunity to uncover potential in a panel of 105 independant agents in Auckland, Waikato and surrounds, in addition to my Office Manager responsibilities. I exceeded target for total risk and through a regular call cycle, providing in-depth AXA product and IT training, building good relationships and helping to add value to adviser practices, I worked to reinvigorate this panel and achieve pure new risk business targets. I continue to be very knowledgeable in AXA's risk product offering as well as AXA's wider goals and initiatives.After acting as administrative coordinator in a temporary capacity, I accepted the role of office manager. In their busy Auckland location, I was responsible for the day-to-day running of the office and support for the team of business development managers, as well as the regional and general managers. By streamlining the running of the office and providing training on office administration and IT to staff, I was able to create a vastly more self sufficient and efficient office environment. Through this role I also provided support to, and have been able to form good relationships with, both advisers and staff of many of AXA's previously aligned agency practices.As a key member of the Service Level Agreement Unit, I acted as a liaison between government agency customers and Meat Hygiene Service (MHS) staff in the field during my temporary contract at MHS Headquarters. I acted up as Higher Executive Officer for a period of five weeks, during which I worked with MHS and Food Standards Agency (FSA) directors to re-evaluate and redevelop the existing MHS/FSA service level agreement. After this I spent a month creating learning manuals for intensive reporting processes, breaking them down into easy to understand language and visual aids. I was also responsible for organising project initiatives, managing balanced scorecards, raising government invoices and also various administrative duties.As part of the busy reception team, I was responsible for liaising with international clientele, handling complaints, membership sales, general reception duties, accommodation logistics, and maintaining and backing up the bookings database. I was also responsible for group paperwork and creating invoices. After a management assessment, I was awarded with additional responsibilities of fire systems/equipment testing and hygiene product management.After being personally requested for the short-term contract position by the department chair, I provided information and assistance to him during a humanitarian relief effort in Nicaragua. I also assisted him in researching articles, journals and books for use in classroom teaching. Other tasks included weekly video presentations and other administrative duties as requested.The Library maintains over 700,000 volumes across five floors, and holds four computer labs. During this position in a highly organized team my duties, in excess of normal affairs, included spearheading a math-intensive research project for predicting growth rates and comfort capacities of the collection. After presenting the recommendations of my research to the department, they commissioned a relocation of a major section of the library, for which I managed the logistics. For this endeavour I was presented with the 'Going the Extra Mile' award.
