  Victoria Schlieder is a I have an M.S. in Applied Anthropology from the University of North Texas and am currently a project manager with Geisinger’s Investigator Initiated Research Operations group. I am interested in a myriad of subjects including project design, market research, design research, consumer insights, and customer experience management. I also have a special interest in the economic revitalization of ailing retail establishments (i.e. malls, downtowns, etc.). I have acted as a qualitative researcher in several studies, conducting one-on-one interviews, dispensing and analyzing surveys, and doing participant observation. As an undergraduate I designed and conducted an ethnographic study of shoppers at my local shopping mall; the goal of this study was to gather customer insights and opinions to take back to mall administrators. I acted as a broker between customers and mall administrators, suggesting solutions that would revitalize the mall and make it more appealing to shoppers. Most recently, I completed a research project for my applied thesis client, Downtown Bloomsburg, Inc., a non-profit organization located in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania and housed within the Columbia-Montour Chamber of Commerce. DBI was founded to help revitalize Bloomsburg's downtown district. My work focused on finding solutions for revitalization based on the views of downtown business owners and downtown customers. Research methodology used for this study included business owner and customer interviews, customer surveys, and immersion as a participant observer into the downtown. My applied thesis, "Identifying Opportunities for the Revitalization of Downtown Bloomsburg" was defended and accepted in March 2014.
