I am passionate about the gender gap in STEM and I am determined to champion diversity throughout my graduate education and my professional career. I discovered my love for IT in Tibia, Neopets, lineage, CS 1.6, and many other games. With a desire to be part of this field I studied computer science in college where I was class representative. I learned HTML/CSS, Bootstrap, and then entered Honda South America where I became a network analyst and got my CCNA and ITIL 4 certification. The most important lesson that I learned in IT is there’s certainly yet more to learn, yet more to solve, and yet more to build. And for this, I am very grateful. I hope to lead by example and create more opportunities for women to engage in the IT field which has a conspicuous lack of diversity that persists to this day. The repercussions of this lack of gender diversity are finally coming into view for many IT enterprises as a topic of equality. As a part of the IT field and a woman, I aspire to work each day to increase the diversity of the field that I love and bring more people from all walks of life to the table.
