I was previously the Indiana Minority Health Coordinator (IMHC) in Lafayette, Indiana. Later I became a Community Wellness Coordinator, and the statewide Local Foods & Community Garden Specialist with the Purdue Extension Nutrition Education Program. I have been instrumental in creating community and urban gardening networks in both Lafayette and East Chicago, Indiana; as well as introducing and growing the Great Lakes Apple Crunch in secondary schools and after-school programs. I have contributed to curriculum and training materials, and an expert resource for colleagues and community partners in developing community gardens and farm-to-school initiatives throughout Indiana. In addition to my current role, I also serve on the Indiana AgrAbility Advisory Team and Indiana Grown for Schools Network Steering Committee.
