  Val Steinberg is a An accomplished musician who began her career sharing the stage with Nils Lofgren, Roberta Flack and Gordon Lightfoot, all before the age of 18, Val fine-tuned her chops on the road with CRYSTAL, a Top 40 dance band, during the mid-70's, returning home to teach classical piano, classical guitar and voice to children while attending college in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. By then an accomplished singer-songwriter, over the course of several years in the late 70's and early 80's, Val recorded three albums of original material with her own band, as well as several professional studio musicians. Upon arriving in the San Francisco Bay area, Val soon put together one of the most successful country music bands in Northern California. CADILLAC RED ruled the country music circuit for six years until the music scene shifted, but Val shifted right along with it, performing with other bands, including her own construction, ABSOLON, and an all-female trio, BLACK WIDOW, with friends Patti Cobb and Emi Arika. The GROOVE STREET BAND, a quartet of extremely talented musicians playing classic rock, music from the 80's to now, with a little bit of disco, a dash of punk and just a smattering of metal thrown in for good measure, played at various venues and private events throughout the greater Bay area. Val frequently played with various musicians in the Bay area before relocating to South Florida in 2010. She played classic rock covers with THE GEEZERS, based in Boca Raton, and currently is currently working as a sub on keyboards and guitar. It was by simple casual accident that Val saw an opportunity to combine two of her favorite passions, helping kids and music, when Guitars Not Guns ran a small ad looking for volunteers to teach at-risk children in San Francisco how to play three chords. The program grew and became a nationwide phenomenon. Val is currently working to establish chapters throughout the state of Florida.
