Tyler Shockey Email & Phone Number | Sound has been chasing after me my entire life. I remember as a kid being taken away by the way that music seemed to strike a chord in the deepest parts of me. I remember feeling that music seemed to make sense when the world around me didn't. It felt as if music could heal anything, fix anything, and free anyone. Music has always been my superhero's cape. I could face anything if I could have music. As I grew older, it wasn't just music, it was the wind, the waves, the trees, the crunching of footsteps on leaves. I've been trying to make sense of sound and the absence of sound my entire life. This path brought me here. During my studies at The Conservatory or Recording Arts and Sciences, I've learned why it was I was moved all those years as a kid, that the sound was physically moving all around me, compression and rarefaction, then transduction into electrical voltage to manipulate in endless ways and back to sound pressure waves again to move us in a completely new way. I drew signal flow every day until it was a part of me. I studied microphones and their circuitry. I listened over and over to the subtle difference a slight change in mic placement could make on a sound. I learned how to operate large formate analog consoles as well as the intricacies of digital audio via Dante, EUCON, and other protocols. I learned how to be wrong and how to pick myself up again when I fell. I will always be learning. With each new layer, I am shown how many new fascinating layers sit waiting to be explored. My vision as an audio engineer, is to help you in making your dreams become reality.
