Leveraging her 33+ years of international and Canadian tax experience gained and passion for technology, Tracey wanted to combine this experience on her own to create digitaltaxCPA, a digitally enabled tax and accounting firm that leverages her deep tax experience and new age technology enabled processes, to efficiently manage all of the tax, bookkeeping, and accounting needs of clients. Tracey started her career at PwC in Halifax. After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, Tracey transferred into tax where she worked until 1996 when she became the tax manager at Maritime Life. In 1997, she rejoined PwC's Toronto office where she exclusively focused in the Technology, Media, and Communications sector until her retirement in April, 2021. Tracey became leader of PwC's National Entertainment & Media Industry sector in 2006. In 2010, she was asked to lead the firm's Technology, Communications and Entertainment & Media Industry across the Audit, Tax, and Consulting & Deals business. In 2013, Tracey was also asked to lead the National Marketing & Sales Team for PwC Canada and was part of the firm's extended leadership team. Tracey has extensive industry experience and is dedicated to adding value to clients and helping them address today's business challenges. She works with companies of all sizes from small new start up companies to large multinationals. Her extensive knowledge of the tax incentives (digital, filming television, and SR&ED) provide management teams with the confidence they need to ensure the claims are maximized and well managed and incorporated the latest trends. She incorporates her deep knowledge of both the industry and tax issues to help companies structure their affairs to maximize the incentives while considering other key issues in such structures including withholding taxes, ownership of intellectual property and expansion outside Canada.
