Tony Khoury is a Since 2003, Tony has worked hard to shape the business of WCRA and turn it into a successful business entity that is well supported by its Members, Sponsors and highly respected by all Stakeholders (including Government and the Unions). It is worth noting that WCRA represents an estimated 95% of the available commercial waste and recycling collection vehicles in NSW & the ACT. Wherever a Council contracts’ out its waste and/or recycling collection service it does so to a Member of WCRA. Tony has been involved in the waste and recycling industry since January 1990 and is aware of the many & varied business challenges and issues that are faced by business operators – such as demands for better customer service, better cost control, more productivity, better planning, WHS issues, the rising cost of fuel, the skills shortage, the challenges posed by the introduction of a new laws & regulations, insurance issues, the urban sprawl, environmental matters, importance of good training, etc. With the NSW waste levy set at 138.20 per tonne (Sydney, Hunter & the Illawarra areas from 1 July 2017), there are plenty of incentives for resource recovery opportunities and a significant demand for good quality waste management training.
