  Tony Higson is a Hi 👋😊 I am an international design award winning product innovator, entrepreneur and commercial strategy specialist based in Bristol. I have worked UK wide as one of a select cadre of Scale Up Directors for Innovate UK delivering on theirs and the UK Governments flagship innovation programme. The role was very similar to that of a non-executive director. I supported the top 3% of scaling technology companies in the UK. I'm a Business Innovation Manager at the Satellite Applications Catapult in Oxford. I manage the Environmental Space Living Lab (ESLL). "We enable the adoption of scalable Agritech across the UK." We focus on water, soil & biodiversity, underpinned by automation, connectivity and geospatial data. 🛰️ I have the great privilege of working with incredibly passionate and talented people both internally and within our network such as the UK Space Agency and ESA who share our site at Harwell. The ESLL connects sustainability and environmental start-ups with technical expertise in real world test environments. This enables prototyping, demos, upskilling, exploration of 5G connectivity, collaboration and commercialisation. This is achieved utilising our technical experts, space cluster networks, access to existing space technologies, Harwell Catapult facilities and the Environmental Space Living Lab sites; for example Petroc and their Cotie centre. 👩‍🔬🏫📡🤝 My background: three decades commercial retail experience in chains and manufacturing, working as a National Sales Manager and as a CEO of a luggage accessories brand. During which I pitched for and sourced investment and negotiated distribution and license agreements for my intellectual property including patents, design rights and trademarks in Asia, Europe and the USA for ranges i designed. I regularly engage in public speaking around subjects such as innovation, IP, sales, and mental health. My prior consultancy work involved mentoring and coaching early stage and scaling businesses with their sales process, presentations and pitch decks, go-to-market strategy, Intellectual property and articulation of both their value proposition and brand messaging. I am highly creative. I am keen to support sustainabiity and fascinated by the natural world. I also have a passion for intellectual property. I will shortly be starting a degree in intellectual property law to further my knowledge in this area. If you have questions about the ESLL please reach out.
