In ATG Gilley contributed and managed a Intellectual Property portfolio, products and spin-out companies for handheld computers, connected products, tablet computers, set-top boxes, media systems, digital cameras and social computing. Gilley transferred from R&D management to Apple product exec management to lead new computer development. Before and after Apple, Gilley founded and sold several successful companies including Meeting Technologies, a social computing company; FutureTel, A telcom tech company developing telcom T1/EI/PRI systems, MPEG broadcast systems and MPEG2 chips; and PicoStar, an incubator, technology investment company. At PicoStar, Gilley was the founding CTO for ViaVision/Cobalt Microserver which sold to Sun as Cobalt Networks for 2B, as well as the founding CTO for the second largest portal in Brazil.
