My journey began as a graphic and type designer, and I later enhanced my skill set with a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from Steinbeis University SMI Berlin. Originally from Switzerland and now based in Berlin with my family, I’ve developed into a design and business generalist. My expertise spans various fields, including graphic design, web development, design strategy, business design, change management, and business strategy. My primary expertise lies in type design, specifically designing and conceiving complex typeface systems for global clients like TikTok, Pinterest, and Decathlon, among others. As the Account Director at the renowned Swiss type foundry Grilli Type, I’m responsible for the complete project management of custom type systems. This includes creative and art direction, contractual and legal work, client relations and presentations, and management of freelancers and partners for non-Latin scripts. Besides my daily work at Grilli Type, I hold talks and give workshops internationally about Grilli Type and on type design. In addition to my work at Grilli Type, I co-founded Prolog, a Basel-based studio for design and technology, with Daniel Eytan Schneider and Tom Walsh. As a board member and part-time design strategist, I advise Prolog and its clients on design and product strategy. I'm also passionate about education. For the past 7 years, I've been teaching typography at the School of Design in Bern, Switzerland, where I'm currently the Lead Content developer for a new course in type design. My teaching focuses on typography for print and digital applications.
