With GTE I worked in the call center as a billing and order taker representative. I became a cable splicer in 2000. When I began splicing we only worked in copper cables but in early 2000's we began splicing the fiber infrastructure. We are currently splicing a lot more fiber infrastructure as the Greenfield and brownfield work orders have really ramped up this year. Brownfields being overlay in existing service areas and Greenfields being brand new subdivisions/service areas. Throughout the years I have worked in the engineering department. I have engineered delayed order solutions (2006) where the customer wants service and I am to engineer how to tap into the existing facilities or provide new ones to provide the service needed. In 2008 I was able to provide engineering solutions for DSL service orders and trouble tickets by analyzing the loop makeup of the customers facilities and creating a work order plan to condition them by deloading and/or removing bridge tap in order to provide the desired service. And finally, in about 2018 I worked with the obligatory team to provide rgb drawings for road jobs. This is provided to the contractors in order to insure they know where our facilities are and when or if we need to adjust them out of their way before they can proceed with future work. Some examples would be: traffic lights, road resurfacing, new road construction, ditch clean outs, sidewalk construction etc.
