Tim Belevetz is a A former federal prosecutor and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission attorney, I focus my practice on white collar criminal defense, internal investigations, SEC enforcement and corporate compliance. I represent companies and individuals in a range of government investigations and enforcement actions, including matters involving the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and other potential corporate misconduct. I also represent clients in congressional investigations. During my 12 years at the U.S. Department of Justice, I served both in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Virginia and at the Tax Division, where I prosecuted a wide array of white collar offenses against both individuals and entities. During my eight years at the U.S. Attorney's Office, where I most recently served as chief of the Financial Crimes & Public Corruption Unit, I prosecuted and investigated a range of complex financial crimes. As a trial attorney in the Tax Division's Criminal Enforcement Section, I led the prosecution of federal tax offenses. I am frequently asked by the media to comment on issues related to white collar crime and related legal developments.
