Thomas Sang Hyuk Yoo Email & Phone Number | Thomas Sang Hyuk YOO is an optical surfaces metrology engineer at SAFRAN in France. He received his Ph.D. in Physics from Ecole Polytechnique in 2018. He contributed to the development of a multimodal Mueller polarimetric microscope to study the optical responses of scattering media or anisotropic turbid media such as biological tissues and micro/nano-imprinted functional structures. In addition, he developed a method to calculate the Mueller matrix of the relevant sample based on the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method and a modeling of light absorption efficiency on plasmonic organic solar cells based on the finite-element method (FEM). As a member of OSA-SPIE student chapter of optics in Paris (SCOP), he carried out volunteer activities by organizing scientific demonstrations and international conferences. Since he has joined the Safran group, he has been participating in the development of optical test bench, in the framework of the project ELT (Extremely Large Telescope), GMT (Giant Magellan Telescope), etc. He is also in charge of coordinate-measuring machines, deflectometry, and Shack-Hartmann test benches. He is an author/co-author of 10 peer-reviewed journals and has 22 contributions in international conferences. As a professional referee, he has reviewed manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals including Scientific Reports, Optics Express, and Journal of Imaging Science & Technology.
