  Thomas Dunn is a The first stage of my career after graduating with a biology degree was managing large, complex and challenging bar, catering and hospitality units in high profile venues in Brighton and London. A desire to return to my scientific background lead to post graduate study in biomedical and health sciences at Kings College with specialisations in public health and nutrition. Stage two of my career has involved roles in improving school meals, adult weight management, nutrition health promotion and developing food and nutrition strategies and policy for a local authority. The majority of my career in public health has been during intense pressure to local government and NHS budgets. With my experience in the lean finances of catering and hospitality this has resulted in me challenging myself, colleagues and funded partners to provide evidenced value for money and cost effectiveness. I completed the Public Health Consultancy and gained fellowship of the Faculty of Public Health with CCT in 2022. During the training program I completed an MPH and both entry exams to the Faculty of Public Health. I published five papers, worked in unitary and upper tier local authorities, Public Health England regionally and nationally and the University of Nottingham. I currently lead a large, busy and innovative public health portfolio that includes sexual health, substance use, health improvement services and strategic lead, mental health, trauma informed approaches and JSNA transformation. Previous consultant portfolios included: - Knowledge and intelligence - Health care public health - Financial Inclusion - Commissioning I have been keeping links to academia and currently lecture on two degree courses: • University of Nottingham: MPH communicable disease module. Chemical, Biological l, Radiological and nuclear threats. • Oxford Brookes University: Postgraduate public health nursing degree Lecture titles: Community engagement and localisation I've supported the Leicester University medical degree by providing facilitation and lecturing support for year 1 students. For five years I lectured at the University of Brighton: Undergraduate biology dual honour programme Lecture titles: Diet and recovery, Diet and Cancers and nutritional research methods For three years I lectured at London Metropolitan University (Undergraduate and post graduate dietetic degree programmes).
