My primary interest is music culture from a societal perspective, but also ranges to urban history and the history of art and creativity in a more general sense. Currently I work as a lecturer at the Radboud University in Nijmegen. At the same time, I'm finishing my PhD research, which focusses on Dutch 19th-century concert culture, including topics such as concert programming, music journalism, social composition of audiences and listening experiences.
