Matt Brewing Company, one of the nation's most respected brewers of specialty beers. While at the brewery, I completed coursework and attained my New York State Insurance Agent/Broker license. Shortly thereafter, I joined Otsego Mutual Fire Insurance Company as a Field Representative and Management Trainee. Concurrently, I was pursuing my graduate degree at Binghamton University's School of Management to supplement my proven client relationship and management skills with a strong quantitative knowledge base. Following attainment of my Master's degree, I was presented with an exciting opportunity as an officer at Otsego which would capitalize on my strengths in communications and management science. This opportunity entrusted me with a large amount of responsibility in the areas of Marketing, Finance, Underwriting and Reinsurance. I am currently in my 35th year with Otsego Mutual, serving as Corporate Secretary and a Director. Areas of responsibility and leadership include Chief Risk Officer, Compliance and Rating Agency liaison, Investment Portfolio Manager and Marketing function. Founded in 1897, we have recently celebrated two milestones: being rated A+ for 81 consecutive years by A.M. Best Company; and being named New York's Top Overall Carrier by finishing at the top of the PIA's Carrier Performance Survey for the third consecutive time! I've derived a great deal of pleasure working closely with independent agents, reinsurers, financial service professionals, regulators and rating agencies, as well as with my outstanding colleagues at Otsego.
