My experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant includes outpatient orthopedic and sports medicine with an emphasis in Performance Medicine. I have been teaching students as a clinical educator for 10 years. I have been awarded " Clinical Instructor of the Year" twice in my career and this is one of my most proud accomplishments. Teaching student and helping them be successful is one of my passions. One of the greatest honors in my career to date was to be sought out by our professional organization ( American Physical Therapy Association) and asked to write and be featured in their publication PT in Motion magazine as a PTA in the spotlight with a specialty career niche. The APTA also allowed me to achieve an advanced proficiency in musculoskeletal conditions from the many continuing education courses I have completed. Over the past 10 years with Agility Physical Therapy and Sports Performance, I have not only worked one on one with orthopedic and sports medicine patients I have had the opportunity to build relationships with physicians through educating them on new research topics and marketing our services. I have also had many opportunities to participate in teaching courses on injury prevention and conditioning for many local running groups, Gazelle sports ,WMU dance team, and a local dance studio. This has allowed me to meet many wonderful individuals who have positively impacted my life and career. My previous experience as an Exercise Physiologist prepared me on how to teach, prescribe exercise programs and how to positively motivate patients to achieve success. This has served me well into my career as a sports medicine physical therapist assistant.
