Volunteering as a teacher’s assistant really helped develop my listening skills since I had to listen to directions at the beginning of the day in order to successfully complete tasks without having to ask for repeat instructions. One of my strongest characteristics is my adaptability. I adjust well to new and unexpected situations. This is a valuable trait, especially as the world advances and companies have to reevaluate how they function in order to grow with the changes. I am able to tweak my approach to handling things as difficulties arise. This has also been especially true throughout the past couple years of my scholarship dealing with COVID-19 while maintaining a 3.85 cumulative GPA. As a critical thinker, I welcome challenges and find ways to resolve them. I use what I learn and find ways to apply it to my work. I use my mistakes as lessons. If one plan does not work, I have no issue with redesigning my approach in order to produce better results. I am always searching for ways to work more efficiently. This has been beneficial during my undergrad research since I have to not only design a method that fits scientific and IRB standards, but do so in a way that contributes to preexisting studies without simply repeating what has already been done.
