Tayo Moss Email & Phone Number | Establishing policy to enhance the access and quality of health/wellness programs has been at the forefront of my career. I have committed the last 8+ years moving governmental health initiatives forward through doctoral research, grant administration and policy implementation. As the Policy & Program Officer for Michigan’s largest health foundation, the Michigan Health Endowment Fund (Health Fund), I have developed innovative health policies for untapped, low-income communities in need of enhanced health and wellness programming. Solidifying continued efforts for health advancement, my team has worked to distribute over 28 million in grant funding to state agencies, school districts, universities, regional food markets and other nonprofit organizations. My performance and consistent results stem from my direct experience in public policy. I’ve worked closely with legislators, caucus staff, and constituents to push forth legislation on state health insurance initiatives. Additionally, I’ve worked at both the local and state level to address legislative issues, draft bills, and coordinate town hall events that speak to residents' needs. I have canvassed over 14,000 doors through various campaigns and served more than 90,000 citizens in Michigan’s 37th District (Farmington/Farmington Hills) to inform them of initiatives that will impact their quality of life and expand the depth of local resources and community support. Quickly progressed through the government sector for my diligence and commitment to the field, coupled with a strong academic background at Michigan State University, where I achieved my Ph.D. in Kinesiology with a focus on public health. My collegiate accomplishments include over 10 fellowships and awards for merit and classroom instruction.
