Tara Mccann Email & Phone Number | When I was 13 I began to do voluntary work in a local school in Driffield. This was helping the teacher plan some of her lessons for an after school club. I also ran several of these sessions. I did this for several years however I then began my time in Driffield secondary school. I then began dancing at a local dance school. After several years of dancing I was asked to help the dance teacher with routines and classes. In April 2015 I chose to stop helping the dance teacher. This was because I had to study for my exams coming up in the summer. In the summer of 2015 (august) I took part in a nationwide activity. This was NCS (national citizen service.) During the first week you are with complete strangers of a similar age so you do activities involving a high level of teamwork in order to get to know them. On the second week you are then split into small groups and you start to plan your action. This has to be something that will benefit people in your local community or people. For example we helped the homeless in Hull. In the last week we raised money to redecorate their shelter (small house near princess quay) and with the extra money we raised we helped to get them new shoes and coats etc. After this, it made me feel like we take things for granted so, I then spent the end of 2015 working with operation Christmas child (this is a charity that donates shoeboxes filled with gifts for people less fortunate in other countries.) collecting filled shoeboxes and going to local groups to explain how they re able to get involved. In total I collected over 250 shoeboxes filled with things like toothbrushes and toothpaste and teddies etc. In April 2016 I set on an planned a 20th wedding anniversary party. This was all for charity and we raised over 1,000 to be split between the RNLI and McMillan. Throughout this period I was CRB checked, first safety trained, first aid safety trained and had a part time job. In May 2015 I worked at a care home for the elderly as a domestic assistant for a year. Unfortunately I became redundant in July 2016 so I then worked for JD Wetherspoons for 9 months and in that period I was promoted to bar team leader and floor manager. In September 2017 I left and started my current job at the pipe and glass in south dalton where I have been working as a waitress. I have since studied business at college and was awarded a triple distinction star. I am looking to expand my knowledge within this sector in a higher position or try something new (marketing or business development)
