I was employed as a training broker consultant at Old Mutual and started climbing the corporate ladder being promoted to broker consultant and senior broker consultant within a few years. I gained tremendous knowledge and experience in sales, products, legislation governing our industry, tax, financial planning, marketing and relationship building skills. I then took an opportunity that opened as an account executive with Celestis Broker Services, a practice management and compliance service company, that offered independent brokers a network giving them access to practice management, compliance services and association benefits. I was able to help implement and teach these brokers how to make their practices more compliant and cost effective, using practice management tools. I then went independent myself, and joined Progro Insurance Brokers cc, as a member and key individual in 2005. I managed my own financial planning practice, building strong relationships with clients and giving them holistic financial planning advice. I then moved to Old Mutual Personal Financial Advice, as a financial advisor for just over 2 years, and then returned to Progro Insurance Brokers cc, to complete the succession plan and am to date still loving running my own practice, and giving clients financial advice that they can trust.
