At Apple, I developed high performance charging servo loops for iPhones that enabled the team to market the phone's new capabilities like fast charging and higher capacity. Algorithm testing and validation has been a big part of my contributions at Apple. Among various other tools, I have architected and built a comprehensive system level simulation framework that brings together multiple dynamically interacting components like charger, battery, production code, pack hardware and system loads into one cohesive high performance simulation framework. The simulation engine, written in C/C++, was optimized for speed and parallelism allowing me to run thousands of simulations in a short period of time and thoroughly validate the code. I also created APIs for cloud deployment and lead the development of web accessible tool for other teams at Apple. At Cymer, I designed and prototyped new controllers showing improvement over existing algorithms for DUV light sources. I was unique in my ability to take a project from scratch to production including algorithm design, writing and deploying prototype code, hardware testing and finally delivering production ready code. This ability allows me to rapidly improve designs through quick iterations and deliver solutions that are bug free and work as expected the first time around. I was awarded company wide honor for filing 6 patents and several invention disclosures. My graduate school research at University of Minnesota was experiment heavy where I conceived novel ideas on instrumentation and signal processing and single-handedly realized them into working prototypes while overcoming real-world practical challenges. I have developed a state of the art algorithm to detect small signals buried in heavy noise demonstrating a 2x better detection rate than the next best method. The key to obtaining a usable algorithm was clever optimizations for speed and convergence. My methods have been cited and used by several academic researchers. At IIT Bombay, as part of Master’s project, I designed a fuzzy multi-elevator dispatching algorithm. I implemented the algorithm on a microcontroller and manually wired the complete circuit board to demonstrate the algorithm function on a model hardware (also built by me).
