In 2001 I became a Certified Professional Coder with the American Academy Of Professional Coders. I was a member the Pine Ridge coding team to recieve a National Directors Award. In 2010 I moved into the position of HIM/Clinical Applications Coordinator and developed my skills working with the Electronic Health Record. In 2012 I was offer the position of Health Systems Specialist at the Cheyenne River Health Center in Eagle Butte, South Dakota where I worked for 2 years before landing a job at the Phoenix Area Office in Phoenix, Arizona. After 3 years in Phoenix I decided to move back to Eagle Butte in 2017. In 2021 I decided to end my 30 career in IHS on December 31. January 2022 I started working part time for the GPTCHB as a consultant, training one employee to be Clinical Informaticist also to assist the facility to transition to a complete 638 Tribal Program.
