  Takiyah Weekes Mpa is a For the last 15 years, I have thrived within the workforce development and human services arena. I continue to be passionate about the mission of supporting the underserved in attaining self-sufficiency through skills development, training, and post-secondary preparation. In various roles my focus has been providing individual coaching, program development, education and placement in various opportunities. I have had the pleasure of working to empower adults, women, and youth as the Assistant Director/ Manager of Job Development in the First Step Program at the Coalition for the Homeless, then at the Henry Street Settlement, where I continued at the Workforce Development Center but progressed quickly to the role of Employment Services Program Director for the Youth Services division. More recently at the NYC Department of Education on the Career and Technical Education team as the Director of Career Readiness for the P-TECH 9-14 Early College and Career Schools, I supported schools with Work-based Learning (WBL) capacity building, professional development, student WBL opportunities and program assessment, as well as industry and CBO partner engagement. Currently, as the AED of Community Services at Queens Community House, I plan to continue in human services and work with various populations to be able to expand critical access to the resources needed to gain self-sufficiency and achieve future success through Housing and Homelessness Prevention, Food Access, Immigrant Services, and Childcare. As a graduate of CUNY Baruch College with an MPA, and a concentration in Non-profit management, I hope to continue to use my education and experience. My specialties are: Program administration, job-readiness training, coaching, corporate relations, client services, virtual and in-person professional development, and program evaluation.
