I specialize in translating research findings into thoughtful user experiences, collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and facilitating design processes. My design approach is informed by a desire to have good design be accessible to all and to create design processes that are as rich and fulfilling as the end deliverable. I believe the superpower of design is to make values tangible and irresistible and I try to lead with this in my design approach everyday. Most recently, I was the Design Lead at JustFix where I led the design of our digital tools in service of housing justice in the US. Prior to my role at JustFix, I've worked with various organizations including the Center for Urban Pedagogy, The Future Company, IDEO.org, and Outdoor Voices. While my formal experiences in the design industry have allowed me to hone my craft as a designer, I believe it’s my diverse experiences outside of the industry that make my perspective unique. I've held roles as a dancer, yoga teacher, and seasonal cherry picker in British Columbia. I'm also a first generation immigrant who experienced a low-income upbringing firsthand. This range of experiences allows me to make novel connections and be attentive to cultural nuances within my design work. I hold an MFA in Products of Design from the School of Visual Arts and a BA in Urban Geography and Architectural Theory from McGill University. As a part of my continuing education, I've completed certificates in design from Emily Carr University of Art and Design and continue to take classes and trainings from Smashing Magazine, AORTA, Creative Reaction Lab, and SuperHi. My work is driven by my belief in the importance of addressing difficult topics with candor and empathy through the beauty of art of design.
