Sylvain Rigollot Email & Phone Number | BIOGRAPHY SYLVAIN RIGOLLOT Sylvain Rigollot is a short film director and storyboarder. After graduating from the Ecole Louis Lumière, he worked in various fields of cinema, as a cameraman (Spielberg Foundation for the Survivors of the Shoah), assistant director (Le Bidule, Karl Zéro ; Ni pour Ni Contre by Cédric Klapisch), before concentrating on directing. In ''Le Fléau Moderne'' (2008, 14 min), he is interested in the world of seduction through the description of wacky pickup artists, The Dartagnans. This mockumentary vein has been extended with the WebSeries "Drague Academy". Clandestino'' (2006, 15 min) is about illegal immigration. These films have been selected in many international festivals (Iran, Quebec, Bosnia, Germany, Italy, etc; Special Mention for Clandestino at Festroia 2007, Portugal). In parallel to this activity, he designs storyboards for cinema, television and advertising. Emily In Paris, Asterix, Alex Hugo, Largo Winch, The Bureau, The Day of the Comet, Les Guignols de l'Info, Spaceship Earth, Orange, Intermarché, Danone, HugoBoss campaigns, etc., are some of the projects he has worked on. What he mostly like is creating the artistic concept of a film, as he did for Sami Bouajilah's feature in development. He has worked with Nicole Garcia, Gilles Lellouche, Claude Miller, Guillaume Canet, François Schuiten and others. His storyboards take a multitude of forms, adapting to the demands of directors and production constraints that are always different. This is true of the media and techniques, black and white, color, acrylics, pencils, but also of the drawing styles that evolve between cartoon, comic strip and realism. Eager to share his theoretical findings, he gives courses in storyboarding and directing at the International School of Audiovisual Creation (EICAR) and at the Paris YNOV Campus. In 1999, he published "Titanic, A Script Methodology" (Ed. Dixit) an in-depth analysis of James Cameron's film. In this book he proposes for the first time the concept of ''dramatic pyramid'', a method of graphical representation of the dramatic intensity during a film. Between 2017 and 2020, he intervened as an expert with the National Center of Cinema (CNC) within the Commission CVS (VFX and Digital Tech.Fund). He is a member of the SACD, Unifrance and ADAGP.
