I serve as founder/director of Oral History Summer School and as co-founder of the Journalism and Trauma Workgroup (with journalist Allison Lichter). As a writer (arts/culture), I have received support in the form of repeat fellowships at the MacDowell Colony and Yaddo. My work has appeared in The Washington Post, Legal Affairs, The Believer, BOMB, Guernica and numerous artist books. I pseudonymously published a book with Grove Press, in 2004 (reprinted by Random House Japan 2005). I teach at the New School University and I'm currently writing a book about a divided commune ("The Revival"). I received an MFA in Nonfiction from Columbia University, where I was a Hertog Fellow. I bring customized trainings to organizations/teams, institutions and schools. Recent clients include: Harvard Graduate School of Design, University of Chicago, Emma Willard School, Bard, Radiolab, Google AI, Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University, Cooper Medical School and Vassar College.
