It felt like a moon landing when our tests, written in Python, were able to communicate with the IBM mainframe. Trained and supported the test developers in the other Nordic countries within Nordea to do the same.Coordinate tasks and help establish agile methods and tools within the core banking area.Responsible for implementing Lean processes in the Research & Development department. A lot of cooperation with the upper management to make it all connect to the company vision and strategy. Helped out with structuring the work for the Marketing team as well. Both R&D and Marketing ended up doing Kanban.Responsible for controlling change and maintenance for 5 of the most critical systems in the mobile value chain both in the test environments and in production. Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of good processes for application maintenance and development. Member of the management team. Four main releases each year. I scheduled deliveries to each release, and manned up each project team with the right set of people according to their background and experience together with the line managers. I followed up the scrum processes and removed impediments for the teams. I was also the teams’ interface towards pressure from the rest of the organization. When short of a scrum master I stepped in for 6 months in one of the teams.The team implemented changes and handled defects reported by the customer. The changes were delivered as service packages frequently throughout the year.I was the Scrum Master in a Fire fighting team. Our team-members were located in Oslo, Bergen and Ostrava (The Czech Rep.). The customer (located in Holland) was in acceptance test phase and reported errors that we corrected and delivered as service packages each month. .Helped establish an office in the Czech republic. This assignment included a close follow-up of our nearshore developers, problem solving and code review (COBOL, JCL and DB2). The main challenges in this role were communication between the two sites, knowledge transfer and cultural differences.Designed and developed parts of the real-time core banking system (COBOL and DB2). Created and distributed a common standard on how to document the software using the designated tool, Rochade.
