When I see a law or regulation, I want to know why the law was written that way, what is the problem that the regulation attempts to solve? The evolution of the regulations often turns on news events, people, personalities and politics. It’s fun to share the context with clients. The result is better understanding of the intent of the law, better benefit administration and better benefit decisions. But I’m most proud of the relationships that I have developed with our clients. I enjoy supporting them in their professional development, helping them feel informed and confident that their benefit decisions are grounded in reliable information. Outside of work, I like to ride my bike with my husband, Ron. Sometimes we do bicycle tours to other states or countries. Our most fun ride was a “bike’n’barge” trip to the Netherlands – days were spent bicycling with about 30 people through the most bicycle friendly countryside in the world and overnighting on a barge that followed the group from town to town on the canals. Great fun!
