In Wisconsin, she served on the State Superintendents Council on International Education establishing GEAC statewide. She also helped to establish the first Global Educator of the Year Award presented in January 2016. Additionally, through a statewide election, she served a three-year term on the Governing Board of the national organization for District Administrators (AASA). Finally, she was appointed Vice-President of the International Research Association in 2014, a role she continues in. Dr. Borden travels extensively and enjoys volunteering her time. She was one of the first 50 FIFA WC 2022 Pioneers in Qatar and was a volunteer team leader in Media Operations while also volunteering in HR and Communications for the FIFA WC 2022 and Arab Cup 2021. She is also currently the President of the American Women's Association in Qatar, providing over 180 educational opportunities to women in Qatar each year.
