I started exploring solar energy conversion as an undergraduate at Stanford University before taking a full year to improve my skills as a Fulbright Scholar in the Netherlands. When I returned to the U.S., I completed a doctorate at UC Berkeley to survey the solar energy landscape, building and testing inorganic, organic, and hybrid solar cells. Most recently, my experience culminated in the development of a brand new photovoltaic, the polar cell, for sensing and solar energy applications. I founded the startup Ceitta, which operates at Lawrence Berkeley Lab, to bring together a multidisciplinary group of collaborating scientists for this achievement. I use the technical and interpersonal skills I’ve developed as a principal investigator to apply creative solutions to emerging technological problems.
