Notable highlights in his career include: the Urban Transportation Centers’ inclusion in three national University Transportation Centers in 2012; in leading the reform and finance of the RTA 2008 avoiding devastating service cuts and fare increases; forming and chairing national transit coalitions representing the country's largest transit systems and major new rail transit projects; in representing Macquarie Bank on their 1.8 billion purchase of the Chicago Skyway Project in 2005; numerous initiatives resulting in billions of dollars of funding for Chicago in federal highway and transit authorization and appropriation bills dating back to 1982; and the passage of the Airport Passenger Facility Charge Authorization in 1990 which subsequently helped to modernize Chicago O'Hare and Midway Airports.
